Licensing

Mind Archive is proprietary software. All rights reserved.

It is not open source, and it is not source-available. No licence to use, copy, modify or distribute it is granted to anyone — see LICENSE.

Access to the source, including access to a private repository, is for reference only and grants no rights.

Nothing is for sale

There is no commercial licence on offer, no price list, and no purchase path. Any future licensing model is undecided and will be published here when it exists, not before.

Your data is yours regardless

None of this touches your archive. Your conversations, notes and files are yours, stored as ordinary readable files on your own computer and exportable at any time. Licensing governs the software, never your data.

No payment code, ever

Mind Archive itself will never contain payment code, phone home, or ask you for money while you are using it. That promise predates this licence and survives it: the application holds no payment provider, no amounts and no checkout, and a test fails if any provider’s name appears in the interface. See decision D-038.

This document explains the position in plain language. Where it and LICENSE differ, LICENSE governs. It is not legal advice.

Mind Archive was previously licensed under PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0 (decision D-016). That licence was withdrawn before the software was published or distributed to anyone; decision D-046 records the change.
