Code of Conduct

Our pledge

We want Mind Archive to be a project people are glad to take part in. Everyone who contributes, reports a bug, asks a question or reviews a change should be treated with respect, regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.

What good participation looks like

• Being kind, patient and welcoming, particularly to newcomers
• Assuming good faith when something reads badly
• Giving and accepting feedback about the work, not the person
• Saying “I was wrong” without drama
• Considering what is best for the people who will use and maintain the project

What is not acceptable

• Sexualised language or imagery, and unwelcome sexual attention
• Insults, personal attacks, and trolling
• Harassment, in public or in private
• Publishing anyone’s private information without their explicit permission
• Sustained disruption of discussion
• Anything else a reasonable person would recognise as unprofessional

Scope

This applies in all project spaces — issues, pull requests, discussions and commits — and whenever someone is representing the project in public.

Reporting

If you experience or witness unacceptable behaviour, report it privately to the maintainers through GitHub. All reports will be reviewed promptly and treated confidentially. We will not retaliate against anyone for reporting in good faith.

Enforcement

Maintainers are responsible for clarifying these standards and will take fair, proportionate action in response to behaviour they consider inappropriate. Depending on severity and pattern, that may mean:

1. A private correction — an explanation of why the behaviour was inappropriate.
2. A warning — with consequences for continued behaviour.
3. A temporary ban from interaction with the project.
4. A permanent ban for sustained or severe violations.

Maintainers may edit or remove comments, commits, code, issues and other contributions that do not align with this Code of Conduct, and will explain why when they do.
